How to Connect Phantom Wallet (Computer and Phone)

Phantom is the most popular Solana wallet. Connecting it to a site lets the site show your balance and ask you to approve transactions. Connecting never gives a website your secret phrase or the power to move funds without your approval.

On a computer (Chrome, Brave or Edge)

1. Install Phantom only from phantom.com or its official Chrome Web Store page (publisher: phantom.com, millions of users). Fake extensions exist.
2. Create a new wallet or import yours, and write your secret recovery phrase on paper. Never store it online.
3. Refresh the website you want to use. Sites only detect a newly installed wallet after a reload.
4. Click Connect Wallet, choose Phantom, and approve in the popup.

On a phone

Mobile browsers like Chrome and Safari can't talk to wallet apps directly. Instead, open the Phantom app, tap the browser (search) tab, type the website address there, and then tap Connect Wallet.

Common problems and fixes

• 'Connect Wallet' sends me to a download page: the site can't see Phantom. Refresh the page and check the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions.
• Nothing happens when I click connect: click the Phantom icon and unlock it with your password, then try again.
• It works in a normal window but not incognito: extensions are disabled in incognito by default.
• Wrong network: if a site uses devnet for testing, turn on Testnet Mode in Phantom (Settings → Developer Settings).

Stay safe

• No real website or support agent will ever ask for your secret phrase.
• Read every approval popup. If a transaction looks unexpected, reject it.
• Bookmark the sites you use so you don't land on look-alike scam sites from ads.
